Optimization (BI)

Continuous operational improvement is a key driver for advanced and sustainable business performance

Benefits of our Optimization Solution
Cost restructuring via elimination of waste
Lean (efficient) processes lacking unnecessary activities and bottlenecks, help reduce costs and free-up valuable resources.
Reliable customer service that reflects current market needs
The ultimate beneficiaries of operational efficiency and standardization are your customers.
Continuous improvement and ‘lean thinking’ mentality
Engaging in improvement projects helps your business embrace ‘lean thinking’ as the standard way of doing things in all spectrums of day-to-day operations.
Measurable improvement
Improvement proposals, measures of intervention and KPI metrics offer quantifiable “proof” of weaknesses identified and optimizations achieved, facilitating top management support.

The concept of continuously improving everyday activities to achieve a high level of “operational excellence” with all the accompanying benefits is (and should be) top priority and a key strategic goal for modern businesses operating in today’s ever competitive environment. Whether this is expressed as radical, standalone initiatives, or as a set of tools and principles embodied in your official corporate practices, SPIRIT can help your business leverage its improvement potential and seize the benefits.

Two common concerns among businesses are: identifying potential performance gaps (in terms of actual versus desired targets) and cost restructuring. With background experience in the utilization of leading quality management systems (i.e. Lean 6 Sigma, TQM) for continuous improvement, our approach works through 4 distinctive stages, all supported by the leading ARIS BPM Software Platform:

Define (Scope)

Defining the scope, goals and objectives of an improvement initiative is critical to its success. So, problem definition and an initial plan of the desired outcomes to be achieved, based on the voice of your customer, will help align your improvement efforts with customer requirements (CTQ process outputs or characteristics) and earn buy-in from stakeholders.

Understand (Capture)

Detailed documentation of all process elements of the specified area for analysis, serves as the foundation for the deep understanding of how this process area functions, its purpose (i.e. what it is there to deliver) and the resources required (human and financial) for adequate, if not efficient, performance.

Analyze (Measure)

Thorough analyses of the documented processes reveal the root causes of problematic areas (i.e. how process inputs affect process outputs), as well as improvement opportunities.

  • Qualitative analysis
Working closely with our client, we conduct process assessments based on predefined analytics, to reveal ‘process pains’ and ‘process wins’ (i.e. best practices) that can have a significant impact on critical business operations.
  • Quantitative analysis
Cost-benefit analysis and what-if scenarios, supported by state-of-the-art simulation and optimization software, help both to derive specific improvement interventions and prioritize them, by revealing the potential value that can be added from the proposed solutions.

Improve (Enable)

Implementation specifications of the proposed changes enable the necessary improvement interventions. Pilot projects can be used to test feasibility of the proposed solutions and to decide between different ‘to-be’ scenarios. Control measures ensure the longevity of the improvements. During execution, some of the changes to be implemented may include the need for IT automation in different process areas.

More often than not, you already know what your “pain” is – nobody knows your business better than you. Our differentiating factor is that we offer a “measurable” validation of this pain. Improvement proposals and measures of intervention provide a quantifiable impact on your company’s performance and offer a means to prioritize improvement initiatives based on quantifiable “proof”.

SPIRIT also uses specialized software (ARIS Mashzone) to create custom, illustration performance dashboards (graphical mash-ups) that depict your company’s specific performance KPIs -ideal for reporting to top management.
